It was the end of the .com era and everyone knew that the company was in trouble after our biggest client scaled back their spending. One by one people were called in for an interview and offered a pay cut except for one thing - the 4 people who were being made redundant were told last of all and everyone else was told that those 4 people were going before the people themselves were.
