Getting Fired on a Friday
I worked for 2 years at a Mutual Fund company doing client service. During that time the department was re-structured 12 times and the Senior Manager was replaced 4 times. I reported to 6 different supervisors and workflow processes changed at least a dozen times.
At one point we were told that we needed to increase the customer satisfaction by adhering to customer complaints quicker. This was also a week out after one of my colleagues was promoted to supervisor. She wasn't qualifed but was good looking and flirted with all the men bosses in the place. So she got in even though she was under qualified.
A few days later I recieved a call from an irrate caller who insisted to speaking with a supervisor the moment I answered the call. Based on our previous instruction I put the caller on hold and asked if the new supervisor could take the call. She was in the middle of personal conversation with someone at her desk so she asked me to tell the caller to call back. This made no sense.
So I asked her if she thought that was the good service that we'd be instructed to give. She just kept telling me to get the caller to call back. And I just kept asking her if that was good service.
That happened on a Wednesday. On the Friday I was called into HR and was fired. I wasn't given a reason. But it's obvious. I hope I see her one day and trip her.
