Her name should be Hitler

I started working for this great company some 6 months ago as a sales representative assigned to a specific sales office. When I arrived, there were already two other senior sales reps working there, and 1 of them apparantly had it out for me the second I walked through the door. She has now been promoted to area manager and is my direct boss.

She will give me permission to do something and then when I do it, she tells her higher ups that she specifically said that I was not allowed. She tells them that I hang up the phone on her, when it is she that always hangs up on me. She tells them that I disrespect her when it is her that is always screaming (litterally) and cussing in my ear. She critizises every other sales agent to the others, and she never has anything possitive or motivating to say. She tells her higher ups that I am a liar, when she is the one who is lying. She has also taken credit for my marketing ideas and has pushed me out of the project to make sure I can not say I had a part in it. It's come to the point where I know she is out to get me fired, but she can not fire me herself.

She is ruining my chances of moving up within this divission, and everyday I have knotts in my stomach because I know she is going to come in screaming at me, yet again and no one believes me. I'm at wits end and dont know what to do.

I hope you are already looking to move, either internally or to a different company. Do you have any allies elsewhere in the organization who moight be able to help you work around this woman?

Life is too short to work for an asshole.

Maybe if you learned how to spell you would do better in your organization!

START TAKING CONTROL!!! DON’T LET HER SCREAM AT YOU, OR CURSE AT YOU. YOU’RE AN ADULT TOO, AND SHOULD BE TREATED WITH RESPECT AND PROFESSIONALISM.
IF THIS BEHAVIOR CONTINUES, HAVE YOUR ATTORNEY FILE A LABOR HARASSMENT SUIT AGAINST HER. THIS WILL SHOW HER THAT YOU’RE NOT AFRAID OF HER, AND I BET YOU’LL SEE A CHANGE. AND IF THEY TRY TO FIRE YOU BECAUSE OF THIS LAW SUIT, THEY CAN’T. LABOR LAWS ARE MEANT TO PROTECT YOU FROM THIS KIND OF BEHAVIOR. USE THEM.

you should start keeping a record of everything she says to you. If possible tape your phone calls so you have evidence, and talk to your union rep about the bullying you are enduring.

One, stop giving ideas duh!, after the first or second this happened, you should’ve shut your mouth! But reading this I doubt you have and would offer excuses for doing so. second, if she is screaming at you like you say it becomes a hostile work olace environment take a tape recorder or something to prove that you are right, and maybe show it to her superior or your human resources dept, so that you can get HER fired or get yourself a transfer. And look up “hostile work place environment” on the web, use the terminology from it in any confrontation with this boss. When you use “hostile work environment” or even “infringing on my rights” in the same sentence it will give ANY boss pause! Sounding like you know about, or you researched this matter, gives you a breather. And, Third, where the hell is the strength in numbers? if she IS talking about every other sales rep to one another, why isn’t this group sick of it and get together, compare notes, and call her out on it? Show some solidarity, if 3 of more people band together and out in her place by standing up to her, or better yet, again report this to HR or HER supervisor, in the context of her spreading rumors, which causes again, a hostile work place environment AND affects productivity. It Will stop her from doing so in the near future, because thr Human resource dept or HER Boss will not want to deal with the legal, or poor production issues…

‘It’s a great company’ implies they think you’re great too if they hired you. Nothing irritates a tyrant like being happy and just quietly keeping very good records on their behavior. Of course one might, by accident of course, leave a copy of part of this record keeping where it may be found….

Stop volunteering to be a ‘victim’ and say to yourself ‘she/he is not paying rent to live in my head’ Kick her out!

No one takes advantage of us unless we let them. Get everything in writing, bcc her superiors on the submission of your ideas so she can’t take credit. This will allow you the opportunity to still perform in the manner at which you are comfortable without losing credit. Give her enough rope and she WILL hang herself. They always do. The question is, how patient are you? Definitely buy a voice activated/microcassette recorder. $30 will go a long way!

You have one of three ways to go. 1. Find another job.I can’t believe that you can’t find another job and without my boss as your boss you’d be surprised how much better your life would be.2. Seek some legal advice and take the wheels off her little red wagon. 3. Tell her to put a sock in it.

I think I worked for her before. Does she have a coke habit, a drinking problem and a proclivity towards sex with pro athletes?

Go to your Human Resources Dept. Tell them she is creating a hostile work environment, and it’s affecting you mentally and physically. State your grievences with them. Then if possible, put it ‘round the water cooler’ that you have done so, without it getting back to her. Hopefully, others will come forth about her behavior as well.

How do you truly no that she says these things to her supervisors? Have you ever really confronted one to find out? If it’s such a great company, they should have a human resources office. This is where you would first begin in lodging your complaint. I would document conversations prior to taking action. As for moving up. Could be your spelling errors are holding you back from that.

Grow a set and do something about it. You are being walked on and it’s your own fault.

Posted on August 31, 2006

haha, you spelled ‘know’ wrong and then ragged on the poster for his/her spelling. plus, the grammar in the last line is, uh, improper. i wouldn’t say anything, but you asked for it when you dogged someone else. it’s the way of the world.

YOU TOTALLY SHOULD RECORD HER BITCHING/CUSSING AT YOU – THEN PLAY IT FOR HER SUPERIORS. OH YEAH. BUSTED.

Posted on August 31, 2006

MAY I SUGGEST THAT YOU INVEST IN A SMALL TAPE RECORDER AND TAPE AS MANY CONVERSATIONS THAT YOU HAVE WITH THIS WOMAN TO PROVE YOUR OWN SANITY AS WELL TO THE HIGHER UPS TAKE IT TO HER BOSSES AND ASK FOR ACTION!!!!! HATE PEOPLE LIKE THAT HOW CAN THEY LIVE WITH THEMSELVES.

Posted on August 31, 2006

hey, maybe ya’all are going about this the wrong way. Sit down with her one day, talk to her . ask her(nicely) wat the problem is. her kind of behaviour speaks of deep seated insecurity. she’s probably sexually frustrated cause she aint getting any sex at home. maybe you should relieve her of this frustration. think differently, dude.

My boss is an atorney and she is mean. I am afraid of going to HR because I don’t know what kind of lies she has said about me. I am not perfect and I do make small mistakes here and there, but she makes every little mistake of mine huge and minimize the huge mistakes of the others. She is on corrective action with HR, but I am not sure if I should go to HR or not. I don’t want to lose my job.

I would definitely keep a record of the goings on. I had to do this one time for a 22 year old boss that thought he knew everything about everything. He had a habit of going through employees desks looking for and destroying any documented situations that happened in the office involving him. I created a folder very clearly labled as to catch his attention and at the back of the folder I left a note addressed to him saying, “take this information if you must, but you should be aware that I have a complete copy of everything contained in this folder at my home.”
