He's my Dad and Boss.

My Dad's philosophy is to get the job done at all costs, when the client calls we have to jump. Holidays, Birthdays, weekends...none of these matter when it comes to our clients.
My philosophy is: Work to live, not live to work. I believe that my new wife and my personal life are higher priorities than work and that is where most of our arguments come from. Don't get me wrong, I understand that one must work in order to make a living, but living to work is where I draw the line.

Dad’s can be tough.

It’s a generation thing. The younger generation takes a more relaxed view towards work.

if you are making over minimum wage then stop your bitching and be a man. you seem to let your wife control you

Make changes for yourself, and tell Dad all about it.

When you’ve earned your chops then you can do as you see fit. Until then quit bitching and mind your boss or look for work elsewhere.

Find a new job that fits you, then quit and tell Pops (nicely) specifically why you’re leaving. Life is too freakin’ short to be on someone’s on-call list every day of his/her life. No one on their deathbed ever says “I should have worked more.”

I dont know what to say. My dad is my boss and I wish me and you had the same problems. My dad goes out of his way to hand me a bad day.(A) so get used to it or (B)kill yourself and go to hell or©go find another job and move very far. I want to go with (B)but iam not going to hell over my dad or this job. Iam sticking to it until stress causes cancer and I die slowly and painfully (AMEN) Thanks for the time.

You are in the business of customer service, and if you don't serve the customers better than someone else will, there will be no job to complain about. With your philosophy on life, there are other lines of work better suited to your level of commitment. Get a job where you are paid by the hour for working 9-5 and don't take work home with you- this works better for some people. Those jobs tend to pay less, but you are committing less of yourself.
