Know How To Do This? No? Well Get To It!
My Boss likes to preach that she doesn't "micro manage". This is her was of saying, I approve time off and talk on the phone all day.
I took a salaried job which means u can work 35 hours, 40 hours, or 60 hours, but get paid for 40 regardless. (for those of u lucky enough not to know). I was told that this was a few extra hours a week during our busy times. turns out it is a MANDATORY 12 hours a week. It comes with the territory, but the bad part is that u NEVER get to work under 40 hours because she makes you make up any time missed.
Then when i started the job i got about 5 minutes of training by some woman that resembles the angry waitress in the movie "Waiting". When others before me had a two week training course on just this one function. after the first hour i was given the same amount of work as everyone else and expected to finish it on time.
Recently she came to me and asked if i knew how to do a particular thing. I said, "No, I've never done those. I would need some training on that first." she replied by saying, "oh, its easy." and dropping them on my desk. I asked her how and she said she didn't know. IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO...HOW DO U KNOW ITS EASY???
I never have minded hard work, just teach me how to do it so it doesn't take me 5x as long to do the damn things. Worst part is if we make one error (on something that gets reviewed) we get written up and can possibly be fired.
dont be a loser. quit griping and pick up where you left off.
