Liar

After spending 3 plus years working for this guy, it was just the two of us, business started to go south. It was 2002 and we took a large hit in advertising clients that needed photography after 9/11. I had been doing very well at work and over the three years had salary increases from starting at 32k to 48k. 2001 prior to 9/11 was his best year in business ever with billings of more than double any previous year in his 20 years of business.

As things slowed down I started to get concerned about my job, the boss had just bought a new extra large Chevy Trailblazer for himself and then a Jeep Liberty for his non working wife. His excuse was business was great and he wanted a new car, his 2 year old Windstar didn't cut it anymore. Early November 2002 we sat down and I asked him about future viability of my position and he told me don't worry about it all things are going to be fine we are just in a slump right now, we came off the best year ever and we can do it again. My wife was talking to him that same week and he told her that as long as I wanted to work there I was welcome to stay.

Friday of that same week he laid me off with no warning, severance, insurance, etc... his excuse was he could not keep up with the car payments and his 100k salary and keep me around. The following spring I started to get phone calls from his bank, he forgot to take my cell off his call list, for the approval of a 75k loan for his new Boxter. What a prick!

That sounds like a 'friend' of mine who used his investors' money to buy himself a new 'vette and his wife a Lexus.
