New bitch for a boss.
my new boss simone, such a bitch...
she started at my work about a month or 2 ago. normally when we clock on, we have a thing they call a "bundy" where you just press your fingerprint onto the pad so they know you've signed on...when are always busy on weekends (when i work) and we always get out at like 30mins later than normal and if we stayed, we got paid over time, now all of a sudden shes changed that so only the managers get paid overtime and we don't even though the casual workers are the ones who stay back to close the registers down and pack up. she stands there and chats about shit when we are doing all the work and don't get paid for it..i can tell she hates me, its ok coz i hate her :)
So what are you doing about it? If you're not salaried, you should be paid for the work if you stay extra. A half hour late a day works out to 5 hours of pay every two weeks, you should be getting paid for it. So go to the labour board if she won't take care of it.
If you don't think it's worth it and would rather quit, at least do your co-workers a favour and report it to the labour board on your way out. They will appreciate it.
What she's doing is illegal, plain and simple. Hourly workers must be paid for the hours that they work. If she isn't paying you and your co-workers for that extra time, then she is violating labor laws.
