No food or drinks behind the bar
I work in a coffee house and i make coffee from 7am until 4pm pretty much non stop. I get very busy in the morning as quests are heading out the door. I talk to every customer and try to give the best service possible. On Friday morning after a pretty big one with a couple of customers Thursday night I had a glass of water near the machine that I was drinking out of. My boss told me no food or drink behind the bar so all the customers could here it. She tried to embarrass me. I don't think this is fair it was just a glass of water.
Could it be that it was in sight??? Some places rather you not have a beverage out in the open because it shows poor handleing of hygine. Take a drink wash your hands.... its easyer to just to keep out of sight out of mind.
Just be glad you are not married to her...thing is; life has taught me it is very hard to please anyone (esp employers).

Yes i do think its unfair. Everyone gets thirsty, if i was a customer and i saw you take a drink, i wouldnt blink an eye lid. Its not like you were smoking a cigar!
