What others think
The Bearded Philanderer
When hired, I had a great boss. However, the company didn't deem him acceptable, and we were given a new boss, a buddy of one of the other bosses, the two of them have successfully run other companies into the ground before...Besides never doing any work, and filling his timesheet with work his subordinates were doing, in essence falsely billing the clients.
So, he and the rest of management were always sitting around in an office glad-handing each other, (wasting about a million dollars of salary, I used "jerkin each other off"). As we all know, in advertising, sometimes you need your higher ups help to get things done, certain groups work against the grain and need an authoritative voice to re-direct them. When approached for assistance, at 9pm on a worknight, the ONLY night he was ever there late with us, he proceeded to laugh in my face...after informing him I wasn't laughing, its 9pm, I have a life and would rather be home than slaving away...he proceeded to laugh again, in my face...luckily, I didn't hit him.
Another instance, when frustrated with something, he told me to shrug it off...then when I asked him how he does it, he told me its cause he makes a lot of money. So, I asked for a raise or bonus for hard work done in the past few months, I was told no, he didn't want to "dangle a carrot" in front of me to get me to do my job, but his carrot was apparent. Besides abusing the company credit card, all he did was try and screw the younger female staff...its quite distracting to see this sleazy old guy, drooling all over the youngins.
And, the last straw...on a holiday, we were all working our asses off, FOR HIM, and it was about 3pm and noone had eaten lunch, so I asked him if he wanted to order food for us, I was immediately told to "get the f@#k out of my office"...nice, right? This a-hole could not lead his way out of a wet paper bag.
My sympathies for you and your colleagues
