The video store jerk

I worked as a store clerk in a small chain video store when I needed some extra cash. The boss did not like me from day one and would not let me use the cash register, only let me shrink wrap videos. Occasionally, when it was busy and when he did not feel like doing any work (which was a daily thing) he would tell me to help out the other clerks behind the counter.

We had a safe with singles and big bills which we also used to make change in our drawers if we did not have the bills. However, only the boss was allowed to go into the safe. Once one particularly busy evening, I needed singles and quarters to make change for a customer. I asked my boss if he could go get me some change. He stood up and stared me right in the eye with an angry look I have ever seen in him before. He walked to my drawer, shoved me to the back of the counter, and said I can not do anything right and got me change once he realized I had no singles. I reported him to the top managers and he pulled me aside and said he was being wrongfully accused of him hitting me.

I reminded him of the incident and he told me, "I have a wife and daughter, and I will not loose this job because you have a problem with authority!" No one believed me when I reported him again because it turns out his older sister was a top manager and defended him. I quit and never stepped back into that store!
