Threats

Is it legal to tell your employees that they deserve to be shot? How bout constantly telling them that they should be fired? Or making unnecessary comments in the middle of meetings like, "so unless I THINK OF THIS no one else around here can huh? no one else here in this room can connect the dots? JESUS GOD!" Or when pointing out the color tabs to help him find items in a catalog and you blurt out the wrong color he says, "OH, SO YOU'RE COLORBLIND TOO?!" in the middle of a meeting. or how about screaming at the top of your lungs at how PURELY AND COMPLETELY INCOMPETENT YOUR TEAM IS AND WE SHOULD ALL BE SHOT (again) AND WE SHOULD BE FIRED (again).

My boss is similar, except he's all bark and no bite. He'll say horribly offensive things, cuss, call names and threaten BUT he wont just fire me..........

.........cuz he knows he wont be able to find someone else to take my place, because what I do (altho i do NOT walk on water), is pretty intense.

My advice to you: DOCUMENT EVERYTHING HE SAYS. Email it to yourself so its time/dated and keep the file going.

Every little thing he says that is abusive, every thing he does, just document it. IF you quit willfully, you may still be able to collect unemployment IF you have the documentation that the boss was verbally abusive and creating a hostile work environment.

I agree with the other poster. Document it all for future use. If you boss has a supervisor, you may want to give him a copy of it as well. It may save some future employees from suffering the same fate as you.
