You WILL show respect...

My "boss" really isn't a boss. He's a lead, which to my way of thinking means that you show some sort of leadership quality. This asshole doesn't have the power to hire, fire, or even discipline anybody on our shift (third), which really grates on him, but he "demands" that we show him respect because he's "put in the time" and "deserves" it. Trouble is, with him, showing "respect" involves his pants around his ankles and us puckering up. He gives bad reviews, assigns people he doesn't like the shit work, stabs people in the back, steals credit, and kisses the asses of the department manager. Nobody wants to stay on the shift, but upper management won't allow transfers because they can't get any replacements. And they don't want to fire him, because then he'll be able to get a fat severance and collect unemployment from them. I've had numerous run-in's with him, practically from the day I was hired, less than a year ago.
